Free Flow … $350

Doesn’t everybody love sea turtles? This work uses the image of sea turtles breaking away from the confines of the beach and entering the freedom of the open water. Then comes the choice of direction or, as with most, just going with the flow.

This work consists of the cutout styled disc and twelve sea turtles. It is approximately 4’ by 4’. The sea turtles were constructed by hand from a white earthenware clay body and the disc was created from a red earthenware clay body. They were bisque fired to cone 04 (1945 degrees F), then glazed with three coats of low temperature glazes and traditionally glaze fired to cone 06 (1828 degrees).

Here are some “in progress” photos as I was working on its design through completion.
